The short survey is not a quiz about your engineering knowledge, but a survey to find out how you see engineers and engineering.
The aim of the research project is to portray a more accurate representation of engineers and engineering to 3-6 year olds. To do so, researchers need to discover what people already know to determine how parents and carers view engineering.
The survey takes less than 20 minutes to complete, and is in two-parts.
Part one is for both you and your child to answer, and is designed to create a picture of how they see themselves, and what, if any, opinions they have on engineering and engineers.
It is important to stress that there are no wrong answers to these questions it is all about gauging public perception.
As a 'thank you' for your participation, ten participatns will be selected at random to win a Build At Home Working Wind Turbine Kit. The random draw will take place in early August and winners will be notified by email.
The data collected will be utilised to support design of resources for our engagement project and for an academic publication. Your responses will be confidential, and researchers do not collect identifying information such as your name, email address or IP address. All data will be kept securely and destroyed after completion of the project. This study has ethics approval from HWU Engineering and Physical Sciences Ethics Committee.
