Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome!

There are many things I love about being part of the Instagram community, like the support you get from people you’ve never met; knowing that you are not alone when your toddler has their 10th tantrum and it’s only midday, and when someone finds and mentions a hidden gem like [lINK https://www.facebook.com/BrazucaCafe/ ].


I wasn’t sure what Jaxon and I were doing with our day when one of the lovely mums I follow shared a picture of her son in front of a play kitchen in a cafe, and after a little Google Map search, I realised it was only 20 mins on the bus from where I lived.

So I packed us up and within 20mins we were on the bus and Brazuca Cafe was our destination. There was a lovely little table and chairs outside, but as it was typical Glasgow weather, we headed indoors.

As soon the waiter spotted us, he headed straight over to open the door and on noticing that my son was asleep, he helped me manoeuvre the pram next to the table. I was momentarily transfixed on the selection of cakes on offer when the smell of coffee caught my attention and I realised as my little one was sleeping, I could enjoy a flat white whilst it was still hot. Winning! My coffee order was taken and I was given a menu to glance over.


The menu was pretty basic, but I noticed a chill cabinet with a variety of dishes that didn’t appear on the menu and was told that they have daily specials and one if not two soups on offer. All the food is homemade and traditional Brazilian cuisine. I opted for the chicken coxinha (Brazilian chicken and potato croquettes) as I’ve tried them before in a different restaurant and I was discovered that they were moist and seasoned perfectly. My only small criticism would be that I would have liked a salsa or an accompaniment, although I do have to say I was given Tabasco and Ketchup.

Just as I took the last mouthful, my little one woke up and that was the end of my peace and quiet. He immediately spotted the kid's kitchen and went over to play with the kettle, the buttons and the microwave, and I quickly realised there was plenty to keep him amused.


This little area is such a good idea and as the cafe started to empty, I was able to chat with Cida the owner to be told that she has a 3-year-old boy and was the inspiration behind the kid's corner. Cida herself is Brazilian and along with her son, she owns and runs the cafe. As well as being the owner/waitress and barista, Cida is also the chef and the menu (including daily specials) is inspired by her home country and recreated in this gorgeous little cafe.

Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome, even when my little boy would dart behind the counter. There are as expected, baby changing facilities and high chairs available.

When: Tuesday-Friday 9am - 5pm and Saturday 10am - 6pm.
